Bertoldo is an endearing character which is undoubtedly due to his shy, gentle and sensitive nature, but especially because he has a big, soft heart. He is nonetheless difficult to work out thanks to the influences of the karmic 1 and 11/2. These two schemas are effectively antagonistic. The former brings him to affirm himself, to shine and influence people, and achieve autonomy; while the latter engenders dependence upon others, submission and cooperation... He is therefore likely to have some difficulty balancing these tendencies and affirming his personality. While he is generally a timid sort, he is also capable of going through phases where he susceptible to anger or aggression if his strong emotions get the better of him, or as a result of his hypersensitivity.
