A passionate man who emanates strength and authority, Mictlantecuhtli is well-suited to power, and was born to lead, command and orchestrate. More down to earth and practical than truly intellectual, he is an active, dynamic and resourceful individual who enjoys fighting for the principles and causes he believes in. He is courageous with plenty of energy and tends to be quite satisfied with himself, which can be translated as brusqueness, impatience and irritability at times. He has a penchant for physical exercise, which provides an excellent outlet for all his excess energy. Mictlantecuhtli has a great need for autonomy and has difficulty bending to somebody else's authority. He is allergic to all forms of hierarchy, especially since he is quite contrary and argumentative by nature. As far as he is concerned, one's personal value is not based on age, nor is merit measurable in seniority, but is instead demonstrated by one's achievements and competence. His frank and direct attitude is likely to attract a few enemies and a fair bit of conflict, which is what he consciously or unconsciously seeks, to a certain degree. The material realm is important in his eyes, and he never loses sight of the notions of yield and return. He could make an excellent business man or a very good manager, since he has an instinct for a profitable venture. As a child, Mictlantecuhtli is neither docile, complaisant nor patient. He is rebellious and can be touchy and quite temperamental - even extremely bad-tempered at times, especially when he feels out of his depth.
