Joshua is quite a contradictory character, thanks to the influence of two numbers that are in opposition with each other, the 1 and the 2. This duality is expressed by a dichotomy of independence and dependence, dominance and compliance, activity and passivity. If this delicate balance is aggravated the result could be a situation of inner-conflict and feelings of confusion. His cyclothymic personality is observable as he goes through phases of activity, daring, enthusiasm and confidence... followed by a phase characterised by doubt, anxiety, apathy and indifference. If he can learn to control and harmonize these antagonistic tendencies he will realize that he is endowed with an abundance of internal treasures. You could say that he is an iron fist in a velvet glove. Paradoxically, Joshua oscillates between self-sacrifice and egocentricity. He conceals his sensitive nature behind a frosty facade that one could easily mistake for aloofness or contempt. He chooses his activities according to his mood, his feeling in the moment and the people around him. Joshua is in fact acutely receptive and easily influenced. As a child he is very emotional and can be torn between his need for autonomy and freedom, (accentuated if his birthday falls in January or in May, if he was born on one of the following dates: 1st, 5th, 10th, 14th, 19th, 23rd or 28th, or if his Life Path Number is 1 or 5) and a heavy dependence on his family and the family home (if he was born in February, November, on the 2nd, 11th, 20th or 29th of the month, or if his Life Path Number is 2). He could even have difficulty ‘cutting the apron strings'. Ideally his upbringing should be flexible and provide affection and emotional security without being over-protective. He must learn about the importance of responsibility, especially in the family environment. This is a young man who can be extremely protective towards his brothers and sisters.
