Etymology

German, Scandinavian and Czech form of JOSEPH

Who is he?

Josef is a man who, underneath the rough and ready facade, more or less cheerfully conceals a particularly deeply emotive and hypersensitive nature. With the number 19 as an active number, Josef is not a man who does things by halves, both as far as his personality is concerned - which he hopes appears to the world as sturdy, virilite, brave and assertive - as is his destiny, which could just as easily be a glittering success as a staggering failure. His strengths can twist themselves around to become weaknesses in a flash: he can be authoritarian, conceited, impatient, impulsive and reckless, and he is quite capable of putting the cart before the horse. Furthermore, he is often tense, which at times cumulates with an «explosion» during which he may say things he later regrets. If Josef is so «all or nothing», it is without a doubt because his personality is so severely torn between his natural tendency to be emotive, fragile, apprehensive and even fearful at times, as well as highly suggestible due to certain inferiority issues (emphasized if he happens to be have born on a 2nd, 11th, 20th or 29th, in February or November, or if his Life Path Number is 2) and the other aspects of his personality that he would like to cultivate: those concerning masculinity, confidence and independence. He aspires to an image of boldness and fearlessness, possibly even approaching aggression and downright risk-taking... Not surprisingly, the result of this inner-conflict is a somewhat dissipated and relatively anxious personality susceptible to exaggerated fluctuations in mood... However, if he so chooses he can live his life in harmony with his master number 11, of which strength is one of the main characteristics, and this will help him to assert himself, gain confidence and relax. As a child, he lives more closely in vibration with the number 2, a contributing factor in his fragility and vulnerability, which is why it is important to make sure that he learns to value himself. Independence is to be encouraged, and for the same reasons as above, taking part in a sport, and practising a relaxation technique or martial art would be highly recommendable...

What does he like?

He loves people. Meeting them, meeting up with them, doing things with them and bringing them together, while remaining a fervent supporter of freedom and independence. This is because emotional support (amicable or romantic) is necessary for his personal fulfilment. With his karmic 11, he is extremely intuitive and would do well to direct his energy towards the fields of intellectual investigation such as psychology, sociology, astrology and ethnology, which would allow him to quench his thirst for knowledge and illuminate his brilliant mind. Where romance is concerned, He is happiest when he is in a stable relationship and is well suited to family life - this man's home is his castle. He can be easy-going, open and understanding, though at other times, he appears narcissistic and can even be horribly rude and callous! But before you get upset, remember it's probably more about him than it is about you...

What does he do?

Suitable professions include: anything to do with business (management, accounting, banking, economy...), jobs involving a certain risk factor (police, military) and an element of competition (sport), occupations in relation to iron and fire (butcher, tailor, cobbler, blacksmith, sculptor, surgeon...), one of the liberal professions or as partner in a consultancy practice.
